Today the insurance department issued a moratorium on cancellation or nonrenewal of residential properties that are either within or adjacent to any ZIP code within the fire perimeter. The moratorium extends for one year after the declared state of emergency as defined in Section *558 of the Government Code, based on the fact that the structure is in an area where a wildfire has occurred.
