I have an insured that plans to lease their auto fleet (mom and dad own the entity) from another new entity (mom, dad, son and daughter) for taxation purposes. There will be a formal lease between the two. The CA 2001 indicates the ‘lessor’ is excluded from coverage. I believe the intention was to avoid coverage in a true lease situation like Ford Motor Credit Company. Is there another additional insured endorsement that could be evaluated for this type of scenario?
