Adjuster Licensing Requirements for CAT Duty

When multiple disasters occur together such as hurricanes in one area and wildfires in another, or storms occurring in rapid succession, the ability of companies to have enough adjusters to review claims becomes difficult. Thousands of adjusters may be needed to visit the claim sites and assess the damage. Because of the demand for adjusters after a natural disaster, adjusters travel from their home states to assist in adjusting the loss. Many states require adjusters to be licensed in order to practice in the state. States that require adjusters to be licensed often have exceptions and particular requirements for those out of state adjusters who come in only for the catastrophic event. This chart identifies those states and their requirements.
